Inkjet-printed graphene electronics.
We demonstrate inkjet printing as a viable method for large-area fabrication of graphene devices. We produce a graphene-based ink by liquid phase exfoliation of graphite in N-methylpyrrolidone. We use it to print thin-film transistors, with mobilities up to ∼95 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), as well as transparent and conductive patterns, with ∼80% transmittance and ∼30 kΩ/□ sheet resistance. This paves th...
متن کاملMetal-based Inkjet Inks for Printed Electronics
A review on applications of metal-based inkjet inks for printed electronics with a particular focus on inks containing metal nanoparticles, complexes and metallo-organic compounds. The review describes the preparation of such inks and obtaining conductive patterns by using various sintering methods: thermal, photonic, microwave, plasma, electrical, and chemically triggered. Various applications...
متن کاملInkjet Printing as a Key Enabling Technology for Printed Electronics
In the past decade, the family of digital printing technologies has evolved from being just a tool to visualize information into a generator of functionalities. The phrase ′printing beyond color′ aptly sums up this transformation. While this family of printing technologies is still widely used to fulfill visual requirements, its development in the generation of functionality, especially in the ...
متن کاملEvolution of Robustness in an Electronics Design
Evolutionary algorithms can design electronic circuits that conventional design methods cannot, because they can craft an emergent behaviour without the need for a detailed model of how the behaviours of the components aaect the overall behaviour. However, the absence of such a model makes the achievement of robustness to variations in temperature, fabrication, etc., challenging. An experiment ...
متن کاملInkjet printed System-in-Package design and manufacturing
Additive manufacturing technology using inkjet offers several improvements to electronics manufacturing compared to current nonadditive masking technologies. Manufacturing processes can be made more efficient, straightforward and flexible compared to subtractive masking processes, several time-consuming and expensive steps can be omitted. Due to the additive process, material loss is minimal, b...
